Organisation Alignment Survey
The Organisation Alignment Survey measures the alignment of an organisation’s vision, strategy and chosen culture with the actions, behaviours and outcomes of its employees.
Organisations, including those going through significant leadership changes or those adapting to new market pressures, use the tool to take stock and then devise the best path for a sustainable high performance future.
The Organisation Alignment Survey is more comprehensive than other employee opinion and employee engagement surveys as it deals with areas that are important for high performance organisations. Despite being more comprehensive than other surveys, the Organisation Alignment Survey takes only 20 minutes to complete online.
The survey has 120 statements measured on a seven point scale where “one” represents strongly disagree and "seven" represents strongly agree.
What is organisation alignment?
Alignment ensures employees can connect their day-to-day performance with the success of their organisation.
Alignment begins with employees clearly understanding their organisation’s aspirations:
- vision — "what do we aim to become?"
- mission — "how we will achieve this aim?"
- culture – "what values and behaviours are needed for this aim?"
Alignment is further enhanced when management provides clear direction for the:
- organisation – through strategic plans to support aspirations
- divisions – through linked supporting operational plans
- individual employees – through linked roles, responsibilities and measures to support the operational and strategic plans
Organisation Alignment Survey reporting
A key feature of the Organisation Alignment Survey is our “traffic light” reporting. Areas shaded green are doing well, those coloured beige are okay and red shows areas for improvement. The survey will give your leadership team a snapshot understanding of the issues impacting your success, enabling you to devise the best path for a sustainable high performance future.
Benchmarking
For greater perspective, the core statements on the Organisation Alignment Survey are benchmarked against the results from a sample of comparable organisations in our international benchmark database. Our benchmark databases have more than 750,000 employee responses.
It’s difficult to understand the meaning of scores without benchmarking. For example, a person reading the results of a statement on a non-benchmarked survey may think that an average response of 5 on a one to seven scale is good. However, if the benchmark tells you that an appropriate average response is actually 6.22 then a score of 5 suggests there may be an issue.
